The Institute for Labor Studies & Research First Mile to Green Energy Careers Track provides pathways to family sustaining union jobs in the green energy sector. In partnership with the Brotherhood of Utility Workers Council UWUA Local 310, Rhode Island Energy, and Climate Jobs Rhode Island, participants can expect to:

  • Learn about career opportunities in green energy and utilities

  • Explore apprenticeships and industry qualifications

  • Receive aptitude test preparation, including Math and English 

  • Get support with resumes, job applications and interview preparation

  • Learn about labor history, workplace safety and industry expectations

  • Learn about common job site terminology and work place phrases

  • Participate in a job shadow experience in a state of art facility with industry professionals
