The Institute for Labor Studies and Research (ILSR) is seeking highly experienced Microsoft Office instructors to deliver in-person classroom instruction to Rhode Island adult workers for classes beginning March 2026.  Instructors will deliver face to face classroom instruction empowering students to learn Microsoft Office skills they can immediately transfer to the workplace.

Subject(s):

  • Microsoft Beginner Word | Excel | PowerPoint

  • Intermediate and Advanced as potential offerings

​

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with ILSR to develop curriculum (unless otherwise provided by ILSR)

  • Provide effective hands-on lessons to facilitate positive student learning and engagement

  • Prepare and manage classroom materials (PowerPoint presentations, handouts, surveys, content focused assessments, etc.)

  • Report/communicate participant attendance

Experience Required:

  • 3-5-years Microsoft Office Instruction to adult learners

  • In-person instruction

​

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

​​

Work Locations:

  • In-person at the ILSR, Cranston RI

  • Travel to offsite locations requiring access to a personal vehicle

​

Hours per week:

  • Varies - up to 10 hours

  • Classes are on demand - no weekly guarantee

  • Classes primarily held Monday – Friday during the day and some evening

Hourly wage:

  • $70 per hour

​
