Professional Development Instructors

Part-Time

 

The Institute for Labor Studies and Research, Cranston, RI, is seeking experienced Instructors to provide instruction for on-demand professional development workshops. These individuals will deliver classroom instruction empowering participants to learn skills they can transfer to the workplace and everyday life.

 

Instruction could be for any of the below categories:

 

Psychology                       Business Writing                    Time Management                

Cultural Sociology            Communication                      Managing Antisocial Behavior

Conflict Resolution            Diversity                                Managing Your Stress

Harassment & Bullying in the Workplace      

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create curriculum syllabus (unless otherwise provided by ILSR), class material and content focused assessments

  • Provide effective lessons – most importantly facilitating student engagement and participation

  • Prepare and manage classroom materials (PowerPoint presentations, handouts, surveys, exams, etc.)

  • Proficiency in ZOOM video conferencing

  • Personal vehicle access for travel to offsite locations for in-person instruction

  • Workshops are primarily held Monday – Friday during the day, some evenings

 

Experience Required:

  • 5-years or more educational instruction with adult students

  • Prior videoconferencing instruction

 

Education:

  • Masters Preferred

 

Work Locations:

  • Remote/ ZOOM

  • In-person at the Institute or an Organization’s training facility

 

Hours per week:

  • Varies

  • No guarantee as classes are on demand, up to 10 hours

 

Hourly wage:

  • $70 per hour
